Margashirsha Krishna Paksha (Utpanna Ekadashi)

Utpanna Ekadashi is regarded as a highly auspicious Ekadashi that grants freedom from sins, wealth, prosperity, and fulfillment of desires.

 

According to the Bhagavata Purana, there once lived a wealthy man named Dhanpati who longed for peace, happiness, and prosperity, yet his life was filled with hardships. Sage Narada advised him to observe the fast of Utpanna Ekadashi, which falls in the Krishna Paksha of the month of Margashirsha. Dhanpati observed the vrat with complete discipline, devotion, and faith.

 

As a result of this vrat, all his sins were destroyed, prosperity entered his home, harmony prevailed in his family, and mental peace was restored. Observing this fast fulfills wishes, grants family happiness, and leads to spiritual accomplishment. Utpanna Ekadashi is considered extremely virtuous and fruitful.
