Biography: The Extraordinary Journey of a Saint

Sudhanshu Ji Maharaj was born on 2 May 1955 in Haripur, a modest village in Uttar Pradesh’s Saharanpur district. From childhood, he was drawn not toward worldly pursuits but into deep reflection, scriptural study, and meditation. After completing his postgraduate degree, he briefly served as a teacher. Yet the inner call of his soul soon drew him toward the greater path of welfare and service.

At an unusually young age, he began his pilgrimages across sacred lands. From Kedarnath to Rameshwaram, from Dwarka to Jagannath Puri, he immersed himself in intense sadhana at many holy sites. His spiritual journey brought him to the yogasiddha saint Pujya Shri Sadanand Ji Maharaj, who initiated him into the disciplines of knowledge, austerity, brahmacharya, and karma yoga. With that initiation, Sudhanshu Ji Maharaj offered his life in devotion to humanity, seva, and the revival of dharmic culture.

In 1991, he founded the Vishwa Jagriti Mission. Since then, it has become a sanctuary for spiritual growth, service, and cultural revival — not only in India but across the globe. Today, more than 100 centers flourish under its banner, and countless lives find peace, direction, and fulfillment through Maharaj Ji’s guidance.
