Even today, millions of children in our society have never seen the door of a school. Their mornings do not begin with the turning of book pages but with a search for work. Due to lack of resources, these children either collect garbage or are trapped in the cycle of child labor. Their innocence fades before its time, and their childhood becomes a burden.
The absence of education is not just the absence of literacy, but also the lack of confidence, safety, and the chance for a better future.
Transforming Society through Education: How a resolve became a force of change
In the year 2000, when Shri Sudhanshu Ji Maharaj and Dr. Archika Didi visited the slums of Faridabad, they saw that the lives of children there were far removed from education.
Due to poverty, they did not attend school, and society largely ignored their existence. Seeing their heart-wrenching condition, Maharaj Ji and Didi resolved to give them a better life. They initiated the mission of lighting the lamp of knowledge in their lives. This was the beginning of Gyan Deep Vidyalaya.
