According to the legend, King Shridhar, the ruler of the Vidyadharas, lived in the divine realm with his wife Rambha, who was deeply devoted, virtuous, and gentle by nature. Due to an unintentional violation of spiritual discipline, the king incurred a दोष (spiritual blemish), causing his divine radiance to diminish. Distressed, the royal couple approached a great sage for guidance. The sage advised them to observe the Rambha Ekadashi vrat that falls in the Krishna Paksha of Kartika month. By observing the vrat with faith and devotion, all their sins were destroyed, and they regained their divine brilliance, happiness, and prosperity.
