Karma, derived from Sanskrit meaning "action," is a fundamental concept in Sanatan philosophy. It signifies the law of moral causation, where every action has consequences. Good karma arises from virtuous deeds and intentions, leading to positive outcomes and spiritual growth. Conversely, bad karma stems from harmful actions and intentions, resulting in suffering and obstacles in life.

The impact of karma is deep, influencing one's current life circumstances and future rebirths. Accumulated karma shapes our experiences, relationships, and inner peace. To purify negative karma, one can practice the Four Opponent Powers: sincere regret for past misdeeds, commitment to refrain from repeating them, reliance on a higher spiritual practices, and engaging in virtuous actions to counteract negativity. Regular practices like meditation, ethical living, Yagna, and recitation of mantras, are also effective in cleansing karma.

By understanding and actively working with karma, individuals can transform their lives, fostering compassion, wisdom, and liberation from the cycle of suffering.
