The mythological legend says Lord Krishna settled here after defeating Kansa, the evil king of Mathura. Lord Krishna God is believed to have reclaimed a large piece of land from the sea to build Dwarka.

Adhere to the following instructions to make your meditation journey comfortable, safe, and unforgettable.

  • To maintain the sanctity of Dwarka you are expected to follow a Sattvic lifestyle.
  • It is cold in November, so bring along warm clothing
  • While meditating, men should wear comfortable, loose clothes in white or cream, like Dhoti-Kurta, Kurta-Payjama, etc.; women should be in a comfortable suit or sari
  • Bring your asana to sit and meditate, Jaap mala, an Aachamani (a small cup) for performing the aachaman ritual. These can also be purchased in Dwarka.
  • When you sit for meditation, keep a small, clean towel with you
  • Keep a diary and pen during meditation sessions for taking notes.
  • For your own safety carry a torch with you
  • Keep fewer possessions and refrain from carrying valuables
  • Bring your own toiletries like soap, oil, toothbrush, toothpaste, a towel etc.
  • Seekers must arrange their own transportation to and from Dwarka
  • Lodging details will be shared with seekers one week before the meditation retreat
  • Seekers will have one day for local excursions and may visit places like Dwarkadhish temple (1.5 km from the meditation venue), Rukmini Temple (1 km from the venue), Nageshwar Jyotirlinga (15 km from the venue), Bet Dwarka (34 km from the venue) and Somnath Jyotirlinga (233 km from the venue).
