New Delhi: His Holiness Sudhanshu Ji Maharaj and Dr. Archika Didi honoured senior citizens at the 27th Shraddha Parv event in New Delhi.
The Shraddha Parv event was held at Anand Dham Ashram in New Delhi.
Vishwa Jagriti Mission (VJM) has been celebrating Shraddha Parv since 1997 under the guidance of His Holiness Sudhanshu Ji Maharaj and Dr. Archika Didi Ji on October 2nd, the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi.
Shraddha Parv is an initiative to close the growing generation gap. VJM organizes various events on this day at Anand Dham Ashram and at various centers across the world.
On this occasion, VJM honours the senior citizens for their contribution to family and society.
This year at the Shraddha Parv event, Maharajshri and Didi Ji shared their insights on the significance of honouring parents, grandparents, and all senior citizens.
They emphasized how this practice builds strong family bonds and upholds family values, which are essential for peace, happiness, and prosperity within both the family and society.
While gracing the event, Param Pujya Maharajshri said, “Respect the elderly in all circumstances. They are a bridge to wisdom, a testament to God’s grace, and a beacon of timeless values.”
Maharajshri further said, ”It is not enough to remember the ancestors just during Pitru Paksha. It is also necessary to take care of the elderly who are still alive. They must be supported at every step of life so that they can remain healthy and happy. Make every possible effort to keep them happy’.
Maharajshri also applauded the loving initiative by VJM Panipat as they inaugurated the “Anandmay Jivan Sangh” (Senior Citizens Club) under the “Parivar Jodo Abhiyan”. The purpose of this club will be to enhance the wellness of seniors in the region.
On the occasion, Dr. Archika Didi said, “Our senior citizens are our moral support. Everyone must listen to their life stories of struggle and triumphs as these are the most potent way of learning from their experience. Their wisdom and knowledge enrich our lives, and by respecting and caring them, we embody the essence of compassion and humility.”
“Let us all continue to cherish and honor our elders and show gratitude towards them.”
