Love, Care, Support and Faith; are the 4 pillars of a relationship between parents and their children. Introducing “Shradha Parv”, a selfless day dedicated to parents, praying for their long healthy life for sharing our every joy and sadness like in childhood, whose beauty somehow is lost in its essence as we grow up and we get busy in our lives. Growing up is a part of our lives, we always will experience new things and learn many new things but all these things will take place possibly because of our basic life values and our ethics that are taught to us by our parents, whom we find to be annoying as they grow old. To shine on a different angle to this situation and make each child realize their parents’ value and worth in ever changing lives, His Holiness Sudhanshu Ji Maharaj took on to allot a day for parents like a day for every other relation is done. His aim of allocating a day purely for parents came into action on 2nd October, 1997, when first “Shradha Parv” was celebrated where he put it out there for all to know the importance of each parent for each child and vice-a- versa. A day to celebrate our creators, our parents, and not doing it all just for the sake of one day but to make it our lives’ part for our parents have gone to lengths beyond their measure for our happiness and wishes to be fulfilled. Mishandling, dishonoring, creating controversies and breaking families’ bonds beyond repair; to be away from all these troubles, Sudhanshuji Maharaj built 500 rooms in Anand Dham Ashram and with the aim of creating an Anand Dham Ashram in every household, where every parent is treated with love and tended to with care and supported without any doubt or burden. This day of Shradha Parv lets one seek forgiveness for any wrong you may have committed and be thankful for their guidance and be gratified for their presence in your lives, without any conditions.
“To pilgrimage to a thousand places would still not be enough if one cannot tend to their parents.” – His Holiness Sudhanshuji Maharaj. In saying this, Maharajshri has said to tend to your parents and you shall be blessed beyond measure. Spend the money you may donate to temples for their infrastructural growth, spend it on your parents and be in servitude to The Almighty in truest and purest way, for our parents are our Gods.
