It is situated on the banks of the Sarayu River, where Sri Rama, the seventh incarnation of Lord Vishnu, was born. It is a holy site, a pilgrimage visited by sages like Ved Vyas and Agastya Rishi.

The ancient city is a pilgrimage that everyone wishes to undertake. It is home to several ‘kundas’ or ponds, and an epic associated with each.

Sri Ramarchan Mandiram temple complex, situated in the heart of Ayodhya City, evokes the ancient glory of Lord Ram’s birthplace. It provides devotees with an ethereal spiritual experience when they sit in meditation here under the guidance of a Guru.

Adhere to the following instructions to make your journey pleasurable and unforgettable.

  • Ayodhya is a holy city. Follow a Satvic lifestyle here.
  • It is cold in December, so pack some warm clothing
  • While meditating, men should wear comfortable, loose clothes in white or cream, like Dohti-Kurta, Kurta-Payjama, etc.; women should be in a comfortable suit or sari
  • Meditation Asana / mat, rosary / Jaap Mala, a small container for water / Achmani. These can also be procured in Ayodhya
  • When you sit for meditation, keep a small, clean towel with you
  • Keep a diary and pen during meditation sessions
  • Keep a torch with you
  • Keep fewer possessions and refrain from keeping ornaments and costly valuables
  • Keep things of daily use like soap, oil, tooth brush, toothpaste, a towel etc.
